Instructions
Begin by preheating your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for cooking.
With caution, slice the jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise, carefully removing the seeds and membranes to reduce heat levels. (Wearing gloves is highly recommended to avoid any irritation from the peppers!)
In a medium mixing bowl, blend the softened cream cheese with the shredded sharp cheddar, crumbled turkey or chicken sausage (if including), garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are thoroughly combined into a creamy filling.
Generously spoon the cheese mixture into each halved jalapeño, ensuring they are packed full for maximum flavor.
Pour the panko breadcrumbs into a shallow dish. Gently press each stuffed jalapeño into the breadcrumbs, ensuring they are well-coated on top for an extra crispy texture.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking. Carefully arrange the stuffed jalapeños in a single layer within the basket, ensuring they have space between them for even cooking.
Give the tops of the jalapeño poppers a light spray with olive oil to promote browning and crispiness during cooking.
Cook the jalapeño poppers in the air fryer for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the tops have turned a beautiful golden brown.
Notes
Serve hot with ranch dressing or salsa for dipping.
