Instructions
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the freshly squeezed orange juice, orange zest, low-sodium soy sauce, honey, olive oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Whisk together thoroughly to create a harmonious glaze.
Take the salmon fillets and place them in a shallow dish. Season both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Pour half of the prepared orange glaze over the fillets, ensuring each piece is nicely coated. Cover the dish and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the salmon from sticking, or lightly grease it with cooking spray or olive oil.
Once the salmon has marinated, remove it from the refrigerator and arrange the fillets on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are skin side down.
Generously brush the top of each fillet with the remaining orange glaze, allowing for a flavorful topping.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 12-15 minutes. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and exhibits a beautiful, shiny glaze.
For an extra touch, switch the oven to broil for the last 2-3 minutes of baking. Watch closely during this time to avoid burning the glaze.
After removing the salmon from the oven, let it rest for a few minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
Serve the salmon fillets elegantly arranged on plates, garnished with finely chopped fresh cilantro or parsley, and adorned with thinly sliced orange rounds. Drizzle any remaining glaze over the fillets for an extra burst of flavor.
Notes
Serve with a side of steamed vegetables or a light salad for a vibrant meal. Consider using a sprinkle of sesame seeds for an added crunch.
