Instructions
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, olive oil, garlic powder, grated ginger, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk these ingredients together until they are thoroughly mixed, creating a flavorful maple glaze.
Carefully add the salmon pieces to the bowl with the glaze. Use a spatula or your hands to gently toss the salmon, ensuring each bite-sized piece is well-coated in the marinade. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow it to marinate in the refrigerator for approximately 30 minutes to enhance the flavor.
While the salmon is marinating, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Once the marinating time is complete, remove the salmon from the refrigerator. Arrange the marinated salmon bites on the lined baking sheet, ensuring to allow a little space between each piece to enable even cooking.
Drizzle any leftover marinade over the salmon bites for extra flavor and moisture.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes. The salmon is done when it turns opaque and easily flakes apart when tested with a fork.
For a delightful caramelized finish, switch your oven setting to broil for the last 2 minutes of baking. Keep a vigilant eye on the salmon to prevent any burning.
After removing the baking sheet from the oven, let the salmon cool for a couple of minutes. Then, carefully transfer the bites to a serving platter.
Just before serving, sprinkle the warm salmon bites with toasted sesame seeds and finely chopped green onions for a pop of color and added crunch.
