Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1/2 cup whole milk, warmed to about 110°F (43°C)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs, at room temperature

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)

2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened (for icing)

1-2 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warmed milk and granulated sugar. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the top, and allow it to sit for 5 to 10 minutes. The mixture should become frothy, indicating the yeast is active.

Mix the dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the melted butter, activated yeast mixture, and eggs. Mix until a cohesive dough begins to form.

Knead the dough: Turn the dough out onto a generously floured surface. Knead for approximately 5 to 7 minutes, or until the dough feels smooth and elastic.

First rise: Shape the kneaded dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl, turning it to coat with oil. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm, draft-free area for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Prepare the filling: In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Mix until the ingredients are well incorporated and spreadable.

Roll out the dough: Once the dough has risen, gently punch it down to release any air bubbles. Roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle, approximately 16 inches wide by 12 inches high.

Spread the filling: Evenly spread the cinnamon filling over the entire surface of the rolled-out dough, leaving about a 1/2-inch border around the edges to prevent spills.

Roll it up: Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Ensure the seam is pinched closed to keep the filling secure.

Cut the rolls: Using a sharp knife or unflavored dental floss, slice the rolled dough into 12 equal sections, about 1.5 inches thick. Arrange the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spaced slightly apart.

Second rise: Cover the baking dish with a kitchen towel and let the rolls rise again in a warm place for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake the rolls: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed.

Make the icing: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, softened cream cheese, and milk until the mixture is smooth and creamy. You can adjust the amount of milk to achieve your desired icing consistency.

Glaze the rolls: After removing the rolls from the oven, allow them to cool for about 10 minutes in the pan. Drizzle the cream cheese icing generously over the warm rolls before serving.

Prep Time: 30 minutes | Total Time: 2 hours | Servings: 12 rolls

                              - Presentation Tips: Serve the cinnamon rolls warm on a decorative plate. For a special touch, dust lightly with powdered sugar and sprinkle a hint of cinnamon on top. Enjoy these delightful homemade rolls with a steaming cup of coffee or tea!
