1tablespooncoconut oil (optional, for added smoothness)
1third cupchopped nuts (choose from walnuts, almonds, or hazelnuts)
1third cupunsweetened shredded coconut
1pinchsea salt for a light sprinkle (optional)
Instructions
Begin by peeling the bananas and slicing them into approximately 1-inch thick rounds. Make sure the slices are uniform for even coverage.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and the coconut oil (if using). Microwave the mixture in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each session. Continue this process until the chocolate is completely melted, smooth, and glossy.
Using a fork or a toothpick, carefully dip each banana slice into the melted chocolate. Ensure each piece is well-coated, and gently shake off any excess chocolate back into the bowl.
While the chocolate is still warm and not fully set, sprinkle the tops of the coated banana slices with the chopped nuts and shredded coconut. For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a light pinch of sea salt on top of each piece.
Arrange the chocolate-covered banana bites on a parchment-lined baking tray. Place the tray in the refrigerator and allow the bites to chill for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate has hardened completely.
Once the chocolate has set, your delightful banana bites are ready to enjoy! Serve them as a delicious treat or snack, perfect for any occasion.
Notes
For an elegant touch, serve the banana bites on a decorative platter or tiered stand.
